At the beginning of the class we were taken to the workshop. There we were introduced to all the different types of tools that are used for wood and metals. We were made familiar on how to use them.They also showed us how to use the machines. We were also made aware of all safety norms and the code of conduct.
Later we were given an assignment about materials. We were given eight categories of metals namely:hard, soft, good & bad conductor of heat, rigidity, flexibility, brittle and malleable. Then were asked to search about five materials of each category and research about it’s origin, properties and texture. We made groups of two and discussed about different materials.
The activity helped explore new materials and know about it in detail. I came across many new things to learn. To conclude, it was a totally great experience knowing about different tools, machinery and materials.
